हर मंदिर सिंह 'हमराज़'
कानपुर[भारत] में नवम्बर 1951 में जन्मे और पले-बढ़े. मैट्रिक की पढ़ाई के दौरान [1966-67] उन्होंने अपनी पसन्द के गीतों को सूचीबद्ध करना शुरू कर दिया था. किसी भी प्रामाणिक पुस्तक के अभाव ने, जो उन्हें हिन्दी फ़िल्मों के सभी गीतों की सम्पूर्ण जानकारी प्रदान कर सके, उन्हें ऐसी जानकारी ख़ुद ही संकलित करने की प्रेरणा दी.
जून 1972 में स्नातक की पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद, जुलाई 1972 में उन्होंने भारतीय स्टेट बैंक, स्थानीय प्रधान कार्यालय, कानपुर में प्रवेश किया. जनवरी 1980 में हिन्दी फ़िल्म गीत कोश के एक खण्ड के प्रकाशन की शुरुआत के बाद ही दिसम्बर 1980 में सतिन्दर कौर से उनकी शादी हुई. 30 नवंबर 2011 को भारतीय स्टेट बैंक को, स्वाभाविक सेवानिवृत्ति के कारण, अलविदा कहने के बाद, अब वह अपना सम्पूर्ण समय शेष संकलन कार्य के लिए खुशी-खुशी समर्पित कर रहे हैं.

Har Mandir Singh 'Hamraaz'
He was born and brought up at Kanpur [India]. During his matriculation [1966-67], he started listing the
songs of his choice. In the absence of any authentic book which could provide him full credits of all songs
of Hindi films, he was prompted to compile such information.
After completing graduation in June 1972, he joined the State Bank of India, Local Head Office, Kanpur in
July 1972. He published his first Hindi Film Geet Kosh volume in January 1980. Having said goodbye to
the State Bank of India on 30th November 2011 upon his natural retirement, he is now happily devoting
his full time for the remaining compilation work.
