The writer grew up in the town of Baharampur in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal in the sixties, seventies and eighties of the last century. He started working in the Indian Postal Department in 1990 after graduating in Physics from the prestigious Krishnanath College (now Murshidabad University) and B.Ed degree from Union Christian Training College. After working in different posts in different cities and districts, he is currently working as the Head of Kachar Division (Kachar Division including Kachar District, Karimganj District, Hailakandi District and Dima Hasao District) with headquarter at Silchar town. He was attracted to poetry from an early age and was fond of literature. Other books written by the author include "Kobita Songkolon", "Muthobakshe Sikhkha", "Oprokashito Netaji, "Ujan theke Bhatay - Jiboner Srot", "Mrityur Rong o Hasnuhana".
