City 5 is first in a series of anthologies of contemporary short fiction and poetry from South Asia, both in English and vernacular translated into English. City aspires to explore, dig and bring forth the versatility, complexity and vibrant richness of South Asian literature from all its parts and converge it on a single platform. The aim is to give South Asian poets, writers - and translators - a platform to feature their work and for readers to get acquainted with the contemporary writing scene in South Asia. In addition to the general section featuring creative prose and poetry from and about South Asia from elsewhere, a focused section in City 5 showcases contemporary Sinhala, Tamil and English writing from Sri Lanka.
