This is a brief book on Western religious philosophy. The first essay concerns certain aspects of the Christian faith, i.e., Knowledge and Faith, The Basic Truths, The Nature of Humanity and The Word of God with a short introduction to the achievements of Vatican II. The second essay concerns the French principle of "laïcité" and its relationship to some Vatican II documents. (An exact equivalent of laïcité does not exist in English.) The third essay is a personal reflection on a Western posthuman identity from a philosophical point of view. This is not an introductory text and some knowledge of theology and philosophy and of the relationship of the Church to the State in Western history will be an asset for the reader.
