Amal K Bhaumik, Ph.D. in mathematics, is an experienced teacher and author of more than 40 books including some at the popular level and a few research-oriented. He is engaged for more than three decades, with his extensive research work and in enormous studies of mathematical principles and directions pertaining to measurements, counting, transactions, architecture, geometry, etc. among the folk and commons. 

The present work is an attempt to describe in short the mathematical thoughts and practices in traditional arts and crafts,  folk beliefs, folk sculpture, superstitions, religious ideas, cultural values of tribal and other communities.
