Uttarakhand, also known as Devbhoomi, or the land of Gods, is a Himalayan state in northern India. Though the state is small, it is world-famous for tourism. People call it the heaven of Earth. It is known for its untouched natural beauty and spirituality. It encompasses the most picturesque landscape involving mountains, forests, meadows, valleys, waterfalls, rivers, river confluences and flowers, all nestled in the lap of the majestic Himalayas. The book talks about the most sacred Hindu pilgrimages like Haridwar, Hrishikesh, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, Hemkund Sahib etc. The book covers a dozen hill stations, like Nainital, Almora, Binsar, Kaushani, Ranikhet, Lansdown, Pouri and Moosouri. Since Uttarakhand is a hilly terrain, it may be difficult for some to cover the whole of Uttarakhand in one go. Hence, the book provided travel itinerary in three circuits. However, one can combine all three circuits. There are 24 chapters in this book, which includes the visit to all the famous landmarks of Uttarakhand, in addition to travel itineraries with approximate costing.
