When we take water in our palm and chant the mantra, then the vibrations produced by the chant are absorbed by the water and we drink this energized holy water. This produces good vibrations in us.

We should do the Sandhya Vandan for 1 year. Gayatri Japa of 108 times at morning, noon, and dusk is best. At noon we may shorten it to 12 times when we have less time.

The whole Sandhya Vandan procedure should take 15 minutes or so.
