This is a story of betrayal, revenge, raw ambition, passion, and greed.
In harsh and unforgiving conditions, the central character, Ajay, survives—and ultimately thrives—through means that are not always ethical.
Set during turbulent times in a volatile region, the author draws on his firsthand knowledge of the area and the prevailing local sentiment.
Aimed at both Indian and international readers, the novel includes explanatory remarks to unique Indian terms and references.
A gripping read! I had to literally run after it. Avinder Singh is a storyteller who traps the reader with his plot, and then one gets pulled along the various twists and turns the story takes constantly. The protagonist, who is predictable in the beginning of the novel, becomes a stranger as the story progresses. Deadly!
The travails of Ajay, a civilian in Kashmir with basic survival sense, have been well portrayed. I like his simple, straight forward portrayal of the events. The terrain and overall setting are realistic. The characters are lifelike, in keeping with the kind of people who live in Kashmir. The flow of the story is captivating. I read it in two sittings, well into the night.
For a first time author, even with stated knowledge of Kashmir, it is a worthy story. I wonder if there are many more fiction books, with this backdrop. The author, who has obviously researched the subject well, deserves to be commended.
This is an amazing book by the author, A S Kapoor!
The story line is very gripping and keeps the reader engrossed from the beginning till the end.
Once I started reading it, I could not put it down until I had read the complete book!
Since I know the author personally, I was exposed to the creative side of his personality and the way the story and the plot unravels with various twists and turns!
A must-read, if you are interested in mystery and drama!
Explains the spirit of the book.
Racy read. Never a dull moment. Reading it like watching a movie.
