Bhaskar Saikia was born (1986) in Arunachal Pradesh,the easternmost Himalayan state of India. For the first 18 years, he stayed at his birthplace, while later he moved to Guwahati. His interest in wildlife, travelling and photography was evident from his love for nature. Although a zoology graduate, his interest ranges from wildlife, to stock investment and has keen interest in equity analysis.

He also writes fiction and 'The Gift' is his first fiction which is out already.
