Non-violence, or non-harming others, means completely refraining from causing any pain or injury to any living being. To truly practice non-violence, we must be pure and holy in all three areas - mind, speech, and action.
Nonviolence is true sacrifice, true forgiveness and true strength.
If you are established in non-violence, then you have acquired all virtues. For non-violence is the main mantra around which all virtues revolve. Just as all footprints are lost in the footprints of an elephant, so all religions and ethics are ultimately merged in the great vow of non-violence.
Non-violence is the power of the soul. Hatred melts in the presence of love. And the presence of non-violence dissolves hatred. There is no greater power than non-violence. Regular practice of non-violence strengthens our willpower and makes the mind fearless.
Man is not merely the sum of body and mind, but human birth is a precious opportunity to realize one's inner spiritual knowledge and to regularly awaken one's inner divinity. In this process, all grossness and animalistic tendencies must be completely eradicated from the human personality.
A non-vegetarian diet is a major obstacle in this process, as it naturally increases the obese and animalistic tendencies. On the other hand, a pure vegetarian diet refines the human nature.
Every food has its own chemical composition and vibration. What we eat affects our body and mind. Some foods create imbalanced vibrations in the body, which makes the mind unstable and unbalanced. In addition, eating meat involves an aspect of cruelty - which is not a human quality, it is an animalistic quality that degrades man.
