Bridget White-Kumar was born and brought up in Kolar Gold Fields, a small mining town in the erstwhile Mysore State (now known as Karnataka), India, which was famous for its Colonial ambiance. She comes from a well-known Anglo-Indian family who lived and worked in KGF for many generations.
She is an award winning Cookbook Author and Food Consultant in Anglo-Indian Cuisine. She has brought out 9 Cookbooks. Two of her books have won awards at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards which are the Oscars for Cookbook writers and authors.
Having been born and brought up in Kolar Gold Fields, Bridget White-Kumar has a strong emotional attachment to the place of her birth. The Kolar Gold Fields of her childhood is very different to the KGF of today. This golden period of KGF post-Independence was the period of transition, when the influences of the best of old Colonial India merged with the new emerging independent India.
She has brought out this Anthology of Short Stories and Tales as a tribute to her hometown Kolar Gold Fields.
