Chandan Tripathi has an Honours in Botany from Banasthali Vidyapeeth, and a postgraduate degree in Forestry, Wildlife, and Environmental Sciences from Central University.
She was a part of the 2003 batch of the State Administrative Services of Chhattisgarh, and is presently working in the Chhattisgarh Higher Education Department. She is also the Director of the Hindi Granth Academy under the Chhattisgarh government.
Chandan has been a Sub-divisional Magistrate for 7 years in the Sarguja, Bilaspur, and Mungeli districts of Chhattisgarh. She has also served as the Joint Director in the Department of Health for the state, and has worked as the Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Panchayat in the Raigarh district.
She has conducted research on the "Tissue culture of Bambusa nutans" from the Sal Forest Research Institute in Jabalpur. She has also worked on medicinal plants, and has written several articles for newspapers, including The Hindutva, Echo, Morning India, and Punjab Kesari.
Chandan is a naturalist by heart, and maintains a firm belief in the culture of India.
