Colonel Nisar Ahmed Ansari is a full-time career army officer of the combat arm in the Garhwal Rifles, who served for almost 30 years in the Indian Army. He is a graduate in maths, post-graduate of the prestigious Defence Services Staff College, Wellington (India), M.Sc and MBA. He has held many coveted Command and Staff appointments. He has commanded a Mechanized Infantry Battalion based on Soviet BMP ICVs armed with Anti-tank guided missiles as part of a strike Corps in Northern Command. He is a prolific writer who has contributed scores of articles in professional journals of the Indian Army for over a decade. He has also published many ‘Middles’ in the leading dailies such as ‘The Hindustan Times, The Hindu, Indian Express’ etc for over two decades. This is his first effort of writing a full-scale novel. On retirement, he has worked as General Manager of a private company in Hyderabad since 2003 where he is called, ‘The Mad Colonel’ for driving the civilian staff relentlessly with his cane to complete the tasks on time. He is working on the drafts of several other books of suspense, thrillers and action stories.
