India's economy is based on service. It has not followed the usual "like in China" growth paradigm. It has skipped the manufacturing stage and gone straight from agriculture to services. Although growth in manufacturing is not ideal in terms of job creation and increased wealth, growth in the service sector will encourage growth in agriculture and industry. Trade, hotels and restaurants, transportation, storage, and communication, finance, insurance, real estate and business services, and other community social and personal services are among the five subsectors of services.
