'Udaan' is a collection of 13 contemporary short stories from the continent of Africa. It includes short stories by famous story writers from different countries of Africa such as Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Nigeria, Zanzibar, Congo, Malawi, Sudan, and Egypt. These short stories are not only the literature of the continent of Africa, but they are a mirror of the historical, geographical, social, economic, and political conditions of different countries there.

About the Author

Dr. Khurshid Eqbal is a well-known name in Urdu literature. In the early days of the Internet, he gained world fame by creating India's first website in the Urdu language, urdudost.com. On the same website, he started the publication of Urdu's first online monthly magazine "Kainaat" which continued for 16 consecutive years. In 2010, he published a translation collection of African short stories in the Urdu language under the name "Ek Shab-e-Awargi", which was awarded by the Urdu Academies of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Ten years later, he has presented the Hindi translation of the same stories in the name of 'Udaan'.
