Dr. Kirubanondan Shanmugam worked as a Research and Development Specialist at Vedia Solutions, a sister concern of illusion Dental Pvt. Ltd., India, where he contributed to biomedical device development. More recently, he served as a Senior Project Scientist in the Deportment of Polymer Science and Engineering at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, Maharashtra. He also serves as a distinguished faculty member at the School of Engineering, Saveetha University, Chennai
His research interests include nanomaterials, food packaging, and the application of machine learning in nanotechnology. Dr Shanmugam has completed three postdoctoral fellowships at various universities in India and abroad. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Monash University. Australia; an MASc in Chemical Engineering from Dalhousie University, Canada, an M.Tech in Biopharmaceutical Technology from Anna University, India, and o B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the University of Madras, India
Dr. Shanmugam has worked at several engineering colleges and universities both in India and overseas. He has published more than 100 research articles in reputed national and international journals, filed 8 patents, and has been granted 3 United Kingdom design patents and 5 indian design patents.
