Here is a tale, one that resonates in the hearts of so many, but one that is so often left unspoken. It is the tale of the archetype middleman, one woven from the very threads of my own existence. Born into the arms of a middle-class family, my early existence, both in the lecture halls of education and the laboratories of university life, was a world framed by the constant beat of struggle.
The very title serves as a mirror, reflecting the complex odyssey, the trials, and the triumphs which define the middleman's existence. Between these lines, I try to leave behind a quilt of experiences accumulated over four decades, from kindergarten innocence to introspective maturity at my forty-first year. Life, as it develops, offers a myriad of desires, a symphony of wants that call and entice. But the journey to realization is more often than not hindered, not by the lack of dreams, but by a very significant barrier: the widespread, and frequently constricting, frame of mind of the ubiquitous common middleman. It is this very thinking process, this common perspective from which life is viewed, that this book attempts to investigate. And so, I invite you, dear reader, on this literary quest, to tread the ground of a life that, in so many respects, mirrors your own. My heart's desire is that, here between these pages, you will find not just a reflection of your own life, but a glimmer of hope, a spark that ignites the courage to break through obstacles and seize your own potential. If this book can inspire one soul to walk the path, then its purpose will be served. I dedicate this book with great love and gratitude to my beloved wife, Sonali, to my sweetest daughter, Saanvi, and to my son, Anay, my little angel.
