Dr. Partha pratim is a medical practitioner and a science journalist by profession. He was interested in People’s Science Movement from his youth. Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, the then President of India, was praised him for inventing a technology for rural people during his student days. He has participated in many science exhibitions and workshops. In addition to his duties as a doctor, he is also a science activist. He has been working with Health science, environmental awareness and elimination of superstitions in his native land. His native land is Dooars, a tribal-dominated area surrounded by tea gardens. He has been doing health-awareness work in the tribal community for more than three decades. In addition to formal education, he received special training in science journalism and mass media practice from the ‘Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science’ under the financial support of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. Due to these various reasons he assimilated the spoken language of the people and the books written by him became easy and popular among the common people. “Diabetes er Mokabilay” is one such book.
