Marketing of vegetable seeds is the performance of all business activities involved in the movement of vegetable seeds from the seed farm to the final vegetable grower at a given time, place, quantity, type of seed, growers preference and at a fixed price he is willing to pay. Seed marketing refers to the actual acquisition and selling of packed seeds, intermediate storage, delivery and sales promotional activities.
American marketing association defines marketing as the process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of goods and services to create exchanges effectively and significantly.
Seed marketing should aim to satisfy the farmer’s demand for reliable supply of a range of improved seed varieties of assured quality at an acceptable price. Marketing is not just advertising, distribution or sales but an integrated management process involving employees at every level of a business. Effective seed marketing is an essential component of activities to improve food security.
Dr. Sailaja Satharla is a young academician and researcher in the subject area of Agriculture Plant Pathology discipline. Presently working as a Senior Research Fellow at Plant Health Management Division, National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad, India. She qualified ICAR SRF in 2017. She did his Ph.D. in the discipline of Agriculture Plant Pathology from Department of Plant Pathology, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujrat, India. Dr. Sailaja has actively contributed to the academic community through publications in journals and participation at various national, international symposium/seminars/conferences/trainings etc. Dr. Sailaja has authored 1 book and contributed chapters in 1 book. Her proficiency in agricultural plant pathology is evident in her academic and professional accomplishments.
Dr. Indra Kumar Kasi is a young academician and researcher in the subject area of Agriculture Entomology discipline. Presently working as an Research Associate in Pesticide Formulation and Residue Analytical Centre (PFRAC), Pesticide Management Division (PMD), National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad, India. He has 5 years research experiences. Dr. Kasi had published 25 Research papers National and International high impact factor Q1 & Q2 Journals, and 1 First Reporting paper. He attended 24 national 10 international symposium/seminars/conferences/trainings etc. Dr. Kasi also recipient of Scientist Awards and outstanding thesis award, and best paper award (Total no of Awards 8). He is also life members of a number of national and international professional societies and journal. Dr. Kasi has authored 5 book and contributed chapters in 4 books. Dr. Kasi is also Editorial Board Member American Journal of Entomology (AJE), Science Publishing Group, New York, NY 10020, USA.
