Description

A history professor and his two nieces run into an ancient mystery in a monastery in southern Zanskar, Ladakh Himalayas. Were East and West as clearly divided in the remote past, as they are today? Did we learn from each other in the past? Can this be acknowledged today?
They come close to harm, as they explore a mysterious sectarian world of forgotten truths, heresy and persecution. An adventure in the cold desert, meant for young minds.

A Must Read!

The Scroll is a 150-pager novella that takes you on a journey to the beautiful Himalayan valley of Zanskar. An amazing adventure fiction based on mythology, history, religion, beliefs, and culture.

Dr. Navendu Roy who teaches History at the Banaras Hindu University is on a holiday with his two nieces- Nibe (Nivedita) and Arpu (Arpita). What starts as a trek to the well-known Rubrang Gompa (a Tibetan place of worship), the reader is taken through many twists, and thrills, and reveals that not only engaging but also informative.

The descriptions of the Zanskar valleys are so detailed that it feels like walking through the valley. The conversations between Dr. Roy and his nieces especially about mythology and culture is so well-researched and fact-based that it will leave the reader with some new learning.

The end is amazing and it turns out that this was not a holiday and Dr. Roy had something pre-planned. Pick this book to find out!
