Description

Horticulture plays a vital role in the economy and livelihood security of Kashmir.
The region’s unique climate supports diverse fruit and vegetable crops; however,
this same climatic sensitivity makes horticulture highly vulnerable to climate
variability and long-term climate change. In recent years, irregular snowfall,
shifting seasons, temperature extremes, and water availability issues have
increasingly affected orchard productivity and crop stability.
