The government of Karnataka has introduced the New SEP (State Education Policy) for undergraduate courses from the academic year 2024-25 onwards. Accordingly, the syllabus has been revised by all the Universities of Karnataka.
The book B.Sc. Mathematics Volume II, second semester students who choose mathematics as a Major/Discipline Specific Core (DSC) course. The book has been written in accordance with New SEP syllabus and it is divided into four sections and each section corresponds one chapter of the syllabus. The four chapters are; sequences, Infinite series, differential calculus, functions of two or more variables. The subject matter presented in this book is more straight forwarded way. This book is self-explanatory to meet the requirements and expectation of a student.
The sincere care has been taken to make this book error free in all aspects. The study material presented in such a way that the students and teachers will feel more comfortable for their reference.

Dr. Siddangouda A. completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from Gulbarga University, Kalaburagi. He began his teaching career in 2008 as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics at Appa Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kalaburagi. Currently, he is serving at Government College (Autonomous), Kalaburagi. Dr. Siddangouda is actively involved in research and has published 44 research articles in reputed peer-reviewed international journals. He has also presented research papers at various national and international conferences, including the Indian Science Congress. In addition to his academic contributions, he served as the College Coordinator for the All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE) from 2010 to 2017 at Appa Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Dr. Jagadish V. Tawade is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Vishwakarma University, Pune. With 16 years of teaching experience, his research focuses on computational fluid dynamics, numerical methods, and boundary layer flow. He has published more than 80 papers in national and international journals and seven in conference proceedings, and has delivered many lectures in workshops and seminars. Five students have completed their Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. Tawade, and four are currently pursuing it. In 2013, Dr. Tawade was recognized as a Young Scientist by the Vision Group on Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, and in 2008, he received the Senior Research Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi. Additionally, he is the author of Engineering With MATLAB: A Hands-on Introduction and Handbook for Basics of Artificial Intelligence. He has also written six lab manuals titled Mathematics with Maxima for the B.Sc. program, following the Gulbarga University syllabus. Dr. Tawade also serves as an Associate Editor of the IECE Journal of Applied Mathematics.
Dr. Padmini Kaji has been serving as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of UG and PG Studies in Mathematics at Karnataka Arts, Science, and Commerce College, Bidar, since 2012. She completed her M.Sc. and B.Ed. from Gulbarga University, Kalaburagi, and earned her Ph.D. from VTU, Belagavi. She has authored eight books on Mathematics, including six lab manuals using the software Maxima for B.Sc. students. She has also delivered talks in world record webinar series and national seminars. Dr. Kaji has successfully completed one seed money project funded by the KRE Society and one minor research project funded by the B.G. Mulimani Foundation. Additionally, she has registered one Indian patent and one UK design patent. She has guided 30 minor projects for PG students and has served as a member of the Board of Examiners (BOE).
