Re: प्रभु का (शिकारी) श्वान रूप (e-book)

This is an excellent book published by Archana Apte. It includes translation of three poems by late Shri Niranjan zamindar. I knew him personally. He was a Scholar in true sense of the word. The first poem in this book can be termed as one of " the poems ". It is " Hound of heaven " by late Francis Thompson.
Francis Thompson is a poet from the late 19th century. He studied medicine at Owens college ( now the university of Manchester ). He never practiced as a doctor and moved to London in 1885 to become a writer. However he could find only menial work. He became an opium addict and lived on the streets as a vagrant for years. He wrote three books of poetry before dying of tuberculosis in 1907 at the age of 48 yrs.
The hound of heaven is a long poem describing persuit of a sinner by a loving God. Although aware of God's love for him, the speaker tries to run away from God, fearing that by submitting to God he will have to give up worldly pleasures. He runs from place to place requesting various natural agencies to hide him.But God still persues him like a blood hound saying " Naught shelters thee- who will not shelter me "zamindar Sahab's translation is actually a literary transformation .
