This book titled ‘Heritage of Mewat’ is the history of the places and historical buildings belonging to the area of Mewat with architectural details and political history. The political history deals the history of Mewat under Yaduvanshi Khanzada rule from the time of the earliest invasions of the Iltutmish and Balban covering the Tughlaqs, Sayyeds and Lodis to the British period in modern times. This is perhaps the first attempt to cover this forgotten area in light of the original and oral sources, and it has been tried to make it much informative and interesting. It might look trivial to the readers of the other subjects owing to the vision that a local history may never be a beautiful artistic performance but for the students of History, Archaeology and for the readers of the related area, this work is very much beneficial for the references and general knowledge. On a small scale, it resembles the complete history of Mewat in archaeological relevance, composed of both the original sources and heterogeneous materials, out of which those who have an occasion to consult it must select what they require for their own purposes, without concluding that it is superfluous for them.
