Re: Ghosts of The Past (e-book)

Sometimes in life you come across a love-story which touches your soul very deeply. Ghosts of the past by Arti Honrao is story about two lovers who meet online and fall in love. Life has its own shares of challenges to give to each one of them. The beauty of the story is the way both of them have dealt with their share of problems. I am a hopelessly romantic person at heart and hence love reading love stories. And yes I always like happy endings, no matter what. For I strongly believe what SRK says in OSO "Agar ending happy nahi hai to uska matlab picture abhi baki hai" ( Roughly translated : If the ending is not happy it means the movie / story is still incomplete). I have always admired Arti's style of writing mainly for her ability to write stories on some of the most beautiful side of relationships exploring every emotion that could define love and churning out soul stirring magic.

This is my third book by this author and hence I already have certain amount of expectations from her. And I was not disappointed at all. The author has managed to write a gripping tale with some unexpected twists which leave you wondering till the end as you will not be able to guess what happens next.

Ghosts of the past is about Aakash and Caroline - they meet on the internet and fall in love with each other. It is her writing that attracts him to her. Gradually they meet and decide to take their relationship to the next level. i.e marriage. It is after their marriage they come to know a few things which makes Aakash feel guilty about his decision. After that what starts is a bumpy ride, full of emotions, love and understanding where both the individuals emotional strength is tested. Will they be able to go through this and let their love triumph at the end..is the biggest mystery which is answered in the end. Arti knows the art of creating some beautiful mesmerizing tales which hold the readers attention as he keeps on turning page after page curious to know what next. This is what makes this book an enjoyable read.

In today's world relationships, love and marriage have all seemed to lost their original sheen and what is remaining it a plastic wrapped thing put up to display to the world which is nowhere near to the real feelings at all. In such times, this book is like a breath of fresh air as it re-emphasizes that relationships main base is of love. Nothing but love can help you continue fighting all the storms that life has in store for you.I was deeply touched reading this as it made me feel that such love surely could exist too amongst all the nightmares that we hear off on the internet. This book reiteriates on thing that a relationship based on trust can go a long way...after sometime love and all can fizzle but trust can stay with you forever.

A must read for people who take their relationships for granted in today's world where love seems to have lost its meaning somewhere!
