Syllabic is my third book of short poems, followed by
Scribblings and Scrawling’s.
The poems in Scribblings and Scrawlings are not
written hurriedly or carelessly, as the title says. I have
tried my best within my limits to share my feelings and
experiences in a few short lines in freestyle, not
adopting any format of Poetry writing. My main aim is
to, with simple words, reach readers who like and love
reading poetries.
As per the Oxford Dictionary, a syllable is "a unit
of pronunciation having one vowel sound, with or
without surrounding consonants, forming the whole or
a part of a word; for example, there are two syllables
in water and three in inferno.
Syllabic verse is a poetic form having a fixed or
constrained number of syllables per line.
I have tried an equal number of syllables per line in
each of the poems in this book with 3 syllables per
line to 18 syllables per line, except one that has 1 to
15 syllables.
