His publications cover a wide area in theoretical and mathematical physics. Dr. Lahiri has lectured widely on a large number of topics in physics and general science before specialists as also before students and teachers with less specialized interest. He is the sole author of a number of books in physics and philosophy of science, all uniformly appreciated by readers in the respective subject areas. His recent publications include a reference book on Optics, published by Elsevier. He is currently engaged in the writing of a major work on equilibrium and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics. His current interests include statistical mechanics, interpretations of quantum theory, and philosophy of science and mathematics.
