The poet is an Irishman living and working in India since the 1960s. Is a school-teacher by profession, but has taught in universities and colleges, on the platform (Sealdah, Kolkata) and under trees, by drains and in slums. Got lots of degrees and such from various places, though flunked a few exams in getting them. Cares passionately about youngsters in our less-than-perfect education system, and is part of an ngo (SERVE) trying to do something about all that. Deeply religious, proud of an award Ram Rahim Ekta Manch, for his efforts to harmonize our numerous religions. Has written a few books to help people cope with various aspects of life, his most recent being Fear the Destroyer. Believes that poetry can enrich and strengthen the spirit, and encourage to think, understand, recognize, dare, and celebrate.
