Michael Anthony Holding is one of the greatest fast bowlers from the West Indies. He was born on 18th of February, 1959, in Kingston, Jamaica.
This former West Indian cricketer is undoubtedly one of the fastest bowlers ever to play Test cricket. Most of the batsmen in the world dreaded his deadly fast balls. His bouncers often rattled even the best of the batsmen in the Test cricket.
Michael Holding was given a nickname “Whispering Death” by umpires because his approach to the bowling crease was uniquely quiet. Michael Holding is known for his smooth and very fast bowling. Holding was 6 ft 31/2 inches tall, and this height worked to his advantage as a fast bowler. He very skillfully used his height to generate a great pace and bounce in his balls.
