Review: baith pyar ke pankhon par (e-book) by Dr Sam Bansal
For many years I have had the privilege of hearing Dr Satyan “Sam” Bansal recite his own poems at social gatherings. That is, of course, the best, the headiest rendering of these poems: in his own expressive, well-modulated tones. But I am glad that he has finally collected them into an e-book, so that lovers of pure Hindi as well as Urdu poetry all over the world can enjoy them.
The Romantic poet William Wordsworth in the Preface to his and Samuel Taylor Coleridge's Lyrical Ballads defined good poetry as “the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings,” though he goes on to assert that any poem of value must still be composed by a man “possessed of more than usual organic sensibility [who has] also thought long and hard.” (Wikipedia) Sam Bansal is one such man. By all these counts, “Baith Pyar Ke Pankhon Par” is placed firmly within romanticism.
Powerful sensuality, sublime idealism, expressed through delicate imagery … “Baith Pyar Ke Pankhon Par” is a valuable addition to the world of Hindi poetry.

I am so happy that finally all has fallen into place and your book is published for many to see, read and enjoy your creation.
It was a huge project. I know a lot of time, effort and energy went into it and now that it is complete, I am sure you feel GREAT.
Love is an emotional journey that can only be experienced when one sits on the wings of love. Therefore I really like the title of the book 'beith pyar ke pankhon par'. It is a true statement that Love is pure and Godly.
I am sure the readers of your book will feel this through the expressions of your words in this book.

एक "कल रात मैं कितना रोया"
कविता मैंने " बैठ प्यार के पंखों " वाली कविता संग्रह में से पढ़ीं. मुझे लगा की मेरे जीवन में एक बार मैंने जो कुछ भी खोया था वह वापिस याद आ गया. तब मैंने भी प्यार किया था. हम दोनों मिल भी रोज जाते थे. अगर मैं एक दिन भी उसके घर नहीं जाता तो वह झगड़ा करती थी. एक दिन मैंने कहा मैं आपसे प्यार करता हूँ तो उसने कहा की किस तरह का प्यार करते हो? मैंने कहा एक लड़का लड़की करते हैं वैसा. इस पर वो बोली मैं भी आपसे बहुत प्यार करती हूँ और मेरे गले लग गयी. १० साल तक यह सिलसिला हमारे प्यार का चलता रहा. फिर एक दिन ऐसा आया की सब कुछ ख़त्म हो गया.
इस कविता को पढ़ा तो मुझे मेरा वो प्यार फिर से याद आ गया. मैंने इस संकलन की और कवितायेँ भी पढ़ीं. इनको पढ़ कर मुझे लगा, जैसे की ये मेरे जीवन की घटनाये ही होँ. और वे सब अतीत की बातें एक एक कर मुझे याद आती रहीं.
इस संग्रह की कविताओं में यह खास बात है की ये दिल को छू जाती हैं और एक दर्द भरी टीस सी छोड़ जाती हैं. जितना ये मुझे अतीत की सैर करा देती हैं उतना शायद ही पहले किसी ने उस गुज़रे ज़माने के ये चित्र दिखाए होँ.
