The foremost and most important objective of this complete commentary on the Śuddha Gītā text is to identify and critically examine the original verses of the Bhagavad Gītā composed by Śrī Kṛṣṇa, which are consistent with the Vedas and scientific reasoning, as well as the interpolated verses that were added in later periods.
Through this commentary, readers will not only be freed from the contradictions found in the commonly circulated versions of the Gītā, but will also experience the joy of studying the Śuddha Gītā in a coherent and systematic manner. At the same time, a reflective study of this text along with its critical analysis will provide a comprehensive perspective on the Vedas, philosophy, the Upaniṣads, Manusmṛti, and other scriptures.
In the hierarchical tradition of Vedic literature, even after the Smṛtis are counted following the Śruti texts (as discussed in the classification of Ārṣa texts), the Gītā has been regarded throughout India and the world as the principal and most representative religious text of Hinduism. Therefore, it becomes essential that the original Śuddha Gītā text be made available to readers across the world.
To fulfill this necessity, the commentator has composed this Śuddha Gītā text with complete integrity, sincerity, and every possible effort of research and scholarly endeavor. It is hoped that by reading the Śuddha Gītā, readers will gain an inner vision of Vedic literature and will emerge as well-grounded scholars of the Vedic tradition.
