Dr. Venkat Potana is a pastor, theologian, missiologist, professor, and author with more than 30 years of ministry experience across India and the United States. He holds a Ph.D. in Theology and Missiology and additional advanced qualifications in intercultural studies, philosophy, social work, and divinity. Besides that, he has trained and mentored thousands of students, pastors, and leaders in several nations in different contexts. Presently, he lives in Dallas and holds a religious visa to work with TEEM International, where he mentors couples, equips church leaders, and travels extensively as an itinerant evangelist.
Dr. Potana has written 35-plus books in the areas of theology, missions, family, and discipleship (they are all available on Amazon.com). His books address practical topics of concern such as indigenous missions, college students as target for outreach, parenting, and marriage; and he also writes in the academic realm, publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at international conferences. He has appeared on CBN and other television networks presenting his testimony, reflecting on cultural issues, and presenting his ministry engage in culturally contextualized ministries.
Beyond academia and writing, Dr. Potana’s life is devoted to mentoring the next generation and strengthening families and churches. He lives in Dallas, Texas, with his wife Rita and their son, Ashish. His daughters, Sophia and Lydia, are undergraduate BS Nursing students at Hardin Simmons University, Abilene. Together, their family embodies a testimony of faith, mission, and Christ-centered service.
