Before 19th century there were 'natural philosophers'. but then William Whewell coined the term 'scientist' and since then, over a period of time the 'scientists' divided naturally followed philosophies and beliefs of people into science and pseudo science. Though all continue to reap the benefits of scientific enquiry and developing technologies, many educated and enlightened humans continue to have faith in the good old natural philosophers ways of predictions without much explanation... while science continues to be a body of empirical, theoretical, and practical knowledge about natural world...
