This book was written by Irene Mary Varughese as part of a summer internship at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore in May-June 2011. The third in this series, her project was to develop easy-to-read cases that documented the start-up experiences of the alumni of the Management Program for Women Entrepreneurs who had started a new business after attending the program. The MPWE has been a catalyst for many start-ups by its alumni over the years. As seen in these cases, many alumni have exploited opportunities or converted their skills into viable enterprises that provide immense personal satisfaction to the entrepreneurs. While many were aspiring entrepreneurs when they joined, others reset and expanded their existing small enterprises. We have also included some innovative cases in their initial phase that had not achieved their full potential. We believe that these cases would inspire more women to create such innovative enterprises.
