Few are able to put that in expression and research more on the flowers' names, their quality, their purpose in prayer offerings, or their value in the world of medicines. 'Phula Maucchaba' is a record collection of 65 different and unique flowers that the poetess 'Smt. Alaka Daspatnaik' has written about covering their beauty, their essence and their daily usage. While many flowers in this collection are commonly found, the collection also covers many rare or lesser-known species of flowers that have a sizeable impact on human life.

About the Author

A well known poet, artist, story writer Kalamayee Smt Alaka Daspatnaik was born at Gorumahisahani, in the district of Mayurbhanj in Odisha.
Through her childhood she had been attracted to art, literature and music. She would do sketches, paintings and stitching from time to time.

She publisehd her first collection of Odiya poems ‘Gala Dina’ (Of Days gone by) that got published in Nagpur in 1997.
Over a period of time, she published many more books in Odiya such as Amabasya ra Nayika (The heroine of the new moon night), Anya Akasha (A different sky), Chuna Chuna Phula (A collection of flowers), Sesha Pahacha (The last step), Padarabinda (At His Lotus Feet).
In her journey as an author, she received many awards and accolades, such as Kalamayee, Pallisheree, Kalinga Kavi, Kavi Surabhi, Kusuma Prabha, Kanta Kavi LaxmiKanta, Prakriti Kavi Kuntala Kumari Sabat Awards to name a few.
