The suprime shrine of Hindus Shri Badarinath is located in the remote part of Garhwal Himalyas in Uttarakhand state. Srimad Bhagwat Geeta, India’s greatest literary monument says; “The Himalaya is not considered for high mountains, but divine self manifested in the form of the Himalaya. Maharshish, sages and saints, philosophers, kings and poets all have visited the sacred place at one time or the other in their lives for moksha (salvation : the eternal peace after death). There are many holy places on earth but the sacred place like Sri Badarinath is nowhere and will never be. The Hindu Shastras enjoin that no pilgrimage would be complete unless a pilgrim paid a visit to Sri Badarinath ji the lofty abode of Lord Vishnu. Sri Badarinath has been described in the Hindu scriptures as the ‘Supreme place of pilgrimage’.
