Haans-Vimān, an aircraft, part bird, part machine, is created by Sage Vallabha in ancient times. The sage records, its creation and piloting techniques in a manuscript. The manuscript survives the apocalypse.
The story fast forwards to the twentieth century. The sage returns the manuscript to its rightful heir Abhiraat. Meanwhile a group of people, calling themselves the ‘society of flying crafts’ (SFC), are after this manuscript.
Ms. Mahant's book weaves a complex tale of adventure and mystery around characters portrayed in such detail and depth that you at once become emotionally involved in their lives. Her characterization and attention to detail brings you into the story as a participant and colors the scene with flowing images of the country and people she writes about.
This spellbinding novel is a page turner!

¨Legend of the Haans-Vimaan
Mysthetical fiction at it´s best
¨The legend of a Haans-Vimaan¨is a delectable read. Beginning as what might be mistaken for a true story from Indian mythology, the making of an incredible beautiful aircraft, half bird, half machine, the story takes an unexpected twist into the 20th century. Exotic locales, intreresting characters and a a thrilling plot interspersed with references to the ancient puraanas and the vedas make this a unique story. The story at times, particularly in the beginning, is so well written that it is hard to realize that is it not fact but fiction. The wise sage Vallabha is so well potrayed that I initially thought he was really a wise sage from an ancient epic and that the haans-viaman wa real, not mysthetical. Maya´s book is gripping, well written and refreshingly different.

Re: Legend of the Haans-Vimān
Maya Mahant has written a story that keeps the reader hungering for more. She has a gift of being able to give enough information to satisfy for the moment and yet holds back enough that you can't wait to read the next chapter. Her picturesque descriptions of scenery and characters make you feel as if you are right there in the story. Maya put a great deal of work and love into writing this book and it has certainly paid off. For anyone who likes adventure and suspense I would recommend that you read the "Legend of the Haans-Vimān". Expect to enjoy from beginning to end.
