A second book ‘Agony of migration’ by the author of ‘Indian Tiger caged in the Cupboard’ Mr. S.P.Singh is due for publishing, in a short span of couple of months. The story does not pertain to migration scenario 1947-wchich was a compulsive and devastation, nay destructive blood-bath & social upheaval, post-effect of partition but is a well-planned well thought-out, re-positioning/relocating of the family strategically, in view of the fragile future prosperous of terror-stricken/terror-prone border state of Punjab (India). The writer has woven migratory shift-although it was a far-sighted planned and strategic vision of the main character at the helms of affairs-yet it is narrated in the form of a naturally flowering love-lore story of a young couple; plot seamlessly transitioning from North-to- South, transcending all cultural/language barriers-as if they were made-for-each other pair.
It only becomes evident in the end that this migration and relocation from Punjab to Tamilnadu spreading up to Ukraine and Canada has the brain-child of the head-of-the family; so much that he longed to become one with its soil after death; and the rest. As they say is history. Gripping and engrossing romantic fiction.
