Satish Puthran, born in Mangaluru, Karnataka on 08th October 1984 (Indian Air Force Day), was brought up in Bombay (Mumbai), Maharashtra. An animal lover and travel enthusiast by nature.
He is an alumnus of St. Mary's High School, Dahisar East, Mumbai : 1999-2000 batch. He has received the Best Student Of The Year award at St. Lawrence High School, Avdhoot Nagar, Dahisar East, Mumbai for the year 1991-1992.
He holds a Diploma in International Airlines, Travel, and Tourism Management with AMADEUS as the computer reservation system. He was a National Service Scheme (N.S.S) volunteer for 2 years under the University of Mumbai and completed the Civil Defence Academy (Basic & Warden Service Course) in Maharashtra. He is a professional marathon runner who can give tough competition to anyone.
He has participated in the Mumbai Ultra 12 Hour Run 2017 held on 13th August 2017, covering a distance of 55K without any prior practice. He has volunteered for many marathon events, including participation since 1st November 2015 (Karnataka Rajyotsava) at Central Park, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai for Mastek Foundation Run 2015 : 5K in 00:39:41.
He has participated in the Manipal Marathon 2019 in the 21K category, Manipal, Mangaluru, Karnataka (National Level) in February 2019, and broke his 21K timing at PKDM 2019 in March 2019.
He has volunteered with the Bhumi Mumbai NGO for many years and participated in various activities. He was involved in the Bhumi Nakshatra Sports event held at HP Nagar, Chembur, with Bosco Boys Home, Borivali West, Mumbai, Maharashtra, where he served as Shelter Home Manager for orphanage kids.
He was a Judge and Guest of Honour for Ghe Bharari presents ‘Bal Mahotsav 2023 and Bal Mahotsav 2024, annual sports events for underprivileged kids held at Dr. M. G. Parulekar School, Vasai West.
Tour Guide with ‘DK’s Yatra Unlimited Holidays’ for ‘Mumbai (Dadar - Naigaon) - Trimbakeshwar - Shirdi - Shani Shingnapur’ in March 2024 with ‘108’ senior citizens onboard.
Currently co-author of two anthologies published by Thoughts Hymn Publishers, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. The anthologies are titled The Aurora’s Embrace Volume 4 and Velvet Shadows Volume 1.
Received 1st Prize in Poetry Writing Competition held on Sunday, 18th August 2024 at Pejawara Mutt, Prabhat Colony, Santacruz East, Mumbai during 70th Annual General Body Meeting of Saphalya Seva Sangha, Mumbai.
