This small and humble book emerges from a wealth of 68
years’ combined experience of Shailaja Dwivedi Pathak and
Vivek Hattangadi in pharmaceutical sales and marketing.
And yes, it carries moments from when Vivek stood at
the pinnacle of his profession. Yet he chose to walk to the
ground. Field work was never beneath him. Even when
Vivek was the head of two SBUs, he preferred working with
the classic leather bag of a Medical Representative.
The authors firmly believe that true leadership isn’t about
having a big title or sitting at the top - it’s about how you
treat people every day. When a leader listens, respects
others, and stays humble, people begin to trust and follow
them from the heart, not just out of duty. It’s the quiet
strength, the genuine care, and the willingness to serve
that make someone truly stand out.
In the end, people remember how a leader made them feel
more than the position they held.
The books, “The Titleless Leader” by Nan Russel and “The
Harvard Business Review Manager’s Handbook,” have truly
inspired the authors and are at the heart of what they
want to share.
Shailaja Dwivedi Pathak
