Description

"Fly High Women" is an empowering book that shines a light on the remarkable achievements of women and the hurdles they've overcome along the way. Divided into four insightful parts, this book offers a journey through the triumphs and challenges of women across different spheres.

In Part One, Dr. Chandra Vadhana R, affectionately called Dr. CeeVee, Founder of SheSight, introduces readers to the fascinating world of women’s innovation. From historical breakthroughs to envisioning the future, Dr. CeeVee showcases the pivotal role women have played in the past and continue to play in shaping the field of innovation. She also explores what the future looks like for women in innovation.

Part Two is led by Dr. Yukio Kamino, a male feminist, and a resource person at OISCA International, a Japan-based NGO. He explores what would happen if women, instead of men, are at the helm of affairs of the world. Through thought-provoking insights and cutting-edge research, Dr. Kamino challenges traditional perspectives, urging readers to consider the transformative power of women's leadership.

Part Three is a collection of courageous tales, presenting the inspiring journeys of fifty-one extraordinary women. From scientists to activists, to artists and women in business, these stories highlight resilience and the power of perseverance in the face of adversity.

Finally, in Part Four, Neha Srivastava, Editor-in-Chief of SheSight, provides actionable takeaways for personal and professional growth. Offering practical advice and strategies, this section empowers readers to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience.

Throughout the book, you'll find wise words from successful women leaders and uplifting stories to keep you motivated. Whether you need advice, inspiration, or just a boost of confidence, "Fly High Women" has something for everyone. It's a wholesome book showing women's strength and encouraging every woman to fly high and reach for the stars!

About the Author

Dr. Kamino is a rare Japanese male feminist. After graduating from Keio
(BA), Colorado (MA), and Denver (PhD) universities, he worked for OISCA
International (NGO). Globally, he was Chief Facilitator for the Movement
to Promote ‘UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development’
(adopted by the UN General Assembly for 2005-14), but much disappointed
by men’s general disinclination to confront the escalating ecological crises.
Learning from that experience, he became an advocate for the
empowerment of females and was reported multiple times by India’s
national media. Through OISCA South India’s ecofeminist network, in 2023
he became acquainted with Dr. Chandra Vadhana R. who invited him to
publish his own “Reflecting ‘Feminism or Death (1974)’ a Half Century
Later” in She Sight magazine. Based on that success, they decided to
collaborate again for Fly High Women. Since She Sight shares his mission to
empower females, he looks forward to seeing further collaborations ahead.

Dr. Chandra is a distinguished figure in academia, management, and
entrepreneurship, boasting over two decades of professional managerial
experience, including 10 years of impactful social entrepreneurship as the
Founder of the non-profit, Prayaana Labs in India. She is a serial
entrepreneur and investor in women-led startups including SheSight
Magazine, Pracol.com, and Prayaanajobs.com among a few.
Notably recognized with the Women in Business Award for Social
Entrepreneurship from UNCTAD in 2018, she has received various other
accolades for her contributions to gender equality and entrepreneurship
promotion. A dedicated advocate for women's empowerment, she regularly
speaks at influential platforms such as the United Nations.
Following her completion of a PhD in Psychometrics, she earned the
prestigious Fulbright Fellowship, embarking on a transformative
Postdoctoral research journey at Stanford University (2022-2024). She is
currently working as a Faculty in Entrepreneurship Education at Monash
Business School, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Chandra is a versatile author, known
under the pen name "Dr. CeeVee," with published poetry collections
including "The Girl in Me" (2019) and "The Woman in Me" (2021).
Additionally, she channels her creativity through screenplay writing and
short filmmaking, showcasing her diverse talents and deep-seated
commitment to empowerment. She loves to travel and learn about new
cultures and is a proud mother of two teenagers.

Neha Srivastava brings a wealth of experience from her nearly two-decade
career as a Corporate Trainer, meticulously grooming the workforce within
the IT and Outsourcing industries, enhancing their proficiency in vital
corporate skills.
Upon relocating to the United States from India, Neha began exploring her
interests through hobby blogging and ghostwriting, which became a journey
of self-discovery for her. It was during this transformative period that she
crossed paths with the SheSight platform. This sparked a new passion in
Neha: amplifying women's voices in media, a cause close to her heart.
With a postgraduate degree in Business Studies, Neha has a strong
foundation in Strategic Management and Organizational Development. She
currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the SheSight platform, where she
leads efforts to empower women and advocate for gender equality through
the transformative power of media.
She looks at this transition as not just a career move. For her, it is also an
opportunity to drive positive change and champion the perspectives of
women from diverse backgrounds and experiences
