Any person who has been to Ladakh or knows a bit of Ladakh, will clearly make out two aspects of each element.....one that is an insider's view/knowledge and the other one from a different perspective. The beauty also lies in the fact that both the facets are so well merged that it is actually difficult to distinguish beyond a few shades here and there. The readers, in the bargain, get a great deal. There are so many books on Ladakh. There are more detailed ones, more voluminous ones and more specialised ones. But this one will stand out for its deep research that has been served in the most simplistic manner. My kudos!!
