About the Author

Dr. M. Emmanuel Bhaskar is a Physician-Educator with over 20 years of clinical practice. During the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2022, he supervised the medical care of approximately 20,000 infected individuals. This unprecedented period was a life changing experience for him, forcing him to adapt his medical care skills from clinics and hospitals to the homes of his patients.
As a clinician-researcher, he has authored numerous scientific research articles. This short story series marks his first endeavour to narrate the hardships, hope, failures, and recoveries of his patients who battled COVID with varying degrees of success. He is a specialist in Internal Medicine and teaches at a medical college hospital in Chennai, India.
