The verses and artworks in this book express pain, and happiness, and also celebrate life. Themes connect with nature, fighting injustice, displaying courage, and other crucial aspects of human life.

For instance, ‘Clouds in my eyes’, the title poem of this book, was written as a teenager. Says Flora: "I wrote it when I was suffering under a lot of family issues. I was feeling choked, and would take comfort in Nature." It reflects the pain of a human being holding back internal tears, unable to express, and the feeling of choking that resulted. Yet, the clouds in the skies do also burst, to bring down rain and relief.

The verse carries a positive overall message. Even if internally we are all facing challenges silently, many of us are not able to express life's pain in any form and remain without effective help.
