Mr. H.K.L. Sachdeva was born on April 25, 1945 in Quetta, Balochistan (Now in West Pakistan). He did his Graduation (Honors) in Mathematics, Post Graduation in Philosophy and later also did Graduation in Law, all from University of Delhi. Having had a long inning in State Bank of India, he was also accredited with Associate Certificate (C.A.I.I.B.) from India Institute of Bankers, Mumbai.

He was married to Mrs. Madhu Sachdeva in 1970 and is blessed with two daughters Deepali Sachdeva Kanjilal and Cauvery Sachdeva Handa, both excelled in their fields and are married and well settled. Madhu, Deepali and Cauvery, all three of them, had been a good source of inspiration for him in his writing Poetry.
