This book focuses on the development of GROWTH-India Telescope (GIT) automation and its contribution to kilonovae (KNe) and Gamma Ray Burst (GRB) searches. The work puts constraints on the various kilonovae and GRB models and highlights the importance of more Kilonovae detections. KNe detections may help us solve the puzzling tension of the Hubble constant and understand the compact objects’ equation of the state. Furthermore, the presented work on robotising the GIT operation will enable early afterglow data and determine a more accurate rate of afterglows with a reverse shock-dominated light curve. The current work will be crucial when the upcoming Vera Rubin Observatory starts operations within a few years. Smaller telescopes such as the GIT will help in the rapid follow-up of a large number of transient triggers, thus opening doors to unprecedented astrophysics.
