The book combines all three in one trilogy.
The Crescent Highlands and the Dark Rainbows - First in the series 'The Weeping Gods of Manipur, ' the book is a first-hand account of the Manipur Violence 2023. It charts the history of Manipur from 777AD leading up to the violence in news today. The work is a hybrid of poetry/prose/memoirs. It offers a vivid experience and unlike most of the narratives, it is an insider account. The work also contains a section of fictional stories that closely align with post conflict Manipur. Exposing system manipulation, giving voice to the silenced, the plight of the victims and other stories mainstream narratives have failed to mention. It focuses on key events like the beginning of insurgencies and political leaders that have come to shape the state and its history.
The Crying Rains and the Blood Lilies - The book draws inspiration from Manipuri Polity which seldom finds mention in the mainstream Indian Context. The book has been expanded to include Tribal specificities to map the dynamics that shape Manipur. It starts with the organic development of societies in Manipur's hill and valley. Then it moves to contemporary political issues concerning - Scheduled Tribe Demand, The Three State Theory, Crisis Resolution Models, Affirmative Actions and the Threshold and such. Although the ideas are untested it attempts to bare the structure in order to encourage discussions and talks and hopefully develop political discourse concerning Manipur and the troubled North East India in general. The book, 'The Crescent Highlands and the Dark Rainbows' in the same series tries to offer a sweeping overview of Manipur's Statecraft.
Chandel Poems - Wishes, desires, witness and truth. All in one beautiful sad poetry book. Third in the series of the work - 'the weeping gods of manipur.' The poems, They etch memories in stones, raise an army of trees, And sing with the sparrows. The poems talk of wishes, Desires, witness, loss, tribal, indigene, hills, valleys, culture, resistance, Beautiful hopes and truth. The collection is a poetic map of Manipur.
