Exposing system manipulation, giving voice to the silenced, the plight of the victims and other stories mainstream narratives have failed to mention. It focuses on key events like the beginning of insurgencies and political leaders that have come to shape the state and its history.

The book has been expanded to include Tribal specificities to map the dynamics that shape Manipur. It starts with the organic development of societies in Manipur's hill and valley.
