In this hauntingly beautiful debut collection, Hiten Chojer explores what it means to confront the darkest parts of the self and find a way through the labyrinth of the mind. These poems take the reader from the minute physical sensations of a cold, wet winter’s night to the enormous sensational effects of a public tragedy; these poems make room for the emotions and truths of death, loss, racism, mental illness, and ruptured relationships, all while holding space for hope and growth. Full of incandescent observations and lyric musicality, Gods of Anxiety Be Damned is an unflinching journey through pain and questioning to a place of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and love.
After reading the book, I would like to say that the title is very appropriate and appealing .
Well! I love the book.. In every way possible... from the book title, the cover page, the way its pages are designed, aligned, how the book begins to its very end...
I also like how the author uses black pages at the interlude... and the raw pictures of his hand written poems...
Frankly, I am not a person who loves to read... but once I started, I got hooked to the poems... The way author poured his heart out about the demons of his life journey and the society, are so true and relatable.
All in all, this book is highly recommended... Such a great artist..such a great work and such an amazing writing... Love it!
