About the Author

Jaikishan Desai attended Modern School and St. Stephen's College in New Delhi. After a BA in economics, he proceeded to Davidson College (USA) on an exchange scholarship, and from there on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for a masters in biostatistics and a PhD in economics. After 17 years of working in international development in and on multiple countries, he settled down to an academic life at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand where he teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in public policy in the School of Government.
