Most of these stories came to life while I was stuck in traffic, on a train, or people-watching in cafés — moments when I tend to transmogrify into a universe where I create my own, unique world of imaginary love stories and fantastical fantasies. They’re not exactly autobiographical (my love life isn't that dramatic), but let’s just say if awkward crushes, near-misses, or broken scooters count, then yes, I’ve lived them all. Kind of.
Most of it happened when there were no mobile phones. (Yes, I am ancient)
However, I have tried to place most of those situations in today’s time, except for a couple of them, which demanded that they retain their nostalgic flavour. Read it in order, from the 1st chapter to the 6th. (You'll see why I am saying this when you finish the book.)
‘Love in Progress’ is a collection of unexpected love stories born from the little collisions of daily life that end in a final chapter called ‘The Matrix Of Love,’ where everything aligns and comes together as if it was all meant to be. But was it?
These stories are not perfect, nor are the people in them.
These are also not fairy tales. They are ‘the almosts,’ ‘the maybes,’ and ‘the not-yets.’
If these tales make you smile or remind you of a moment from your own life, then I’ve done my job.
Now go, read. And maybe text that almost-someone.
